Ultraviolet Disinfection

The treatment room uses ultraviolet light (UV-C) after each patient to kill surface viruses. Radiation is directed upward and outward to create an intense zone of UV in the upper portion while minimizing the UV in lower levels. As microbes move into the upper part of the room, viruses, bacteria, and fungi are inactivated so that they can no longer reproduce. These units are used where the reduction of airborne infectious diseases.

Studies have confirmed that UVC light is a practical addition to manual cleaning efforts and can kill harmful pathogens quickly and efficiently. Exposure to UVC light for a specific length of time and intensity kills dangerous microorganisms. The American Journal of Infection Control notes that combining UVC technology with manual cleaning is one of the most effective ways to significantly decrease the pool of harmful pathogens that cause UVC Disinfection on Surfaces and in the Air.
